About Suntec City

In 1984, Singapore’s then Prime Minister, Mr Lee Kuan Yew, invited a select group of Hong Kong businessmen to visit and invest in Singapore. Demonstrating its commitment to Singapore’s future, the consortium, led by Tan Sri Frank Tsao, proceeded to develop Suntec City as a landmark of architectural excellence. The completion of this modern, vibrant and single largest integrated commercial development in 1997 was timely in taking Singapore forward into the 21st century.

The Business Capital of Asia

Designed to be a ‘city within a city’ with 7 million square feet of space, Suntec city, is the single largest integrated commercial development in Singapore with five office towers, a shopping mall, an international convention and exhibition centre and a fountain all connected to each other by street level plazas, walkways and courtyards. The overall layout is well balanced and graceful, turning into Singapore’s landmark. No other development has integrated and harmonized such a wide range of conveniences in business services, information exchanges, networking opportunities or leisure activities to meet the evolving business challenges. Suntec City gives one the unparalleled advantage of achieving business success in “the Business Capital of Asia”.

Suntec (‘Xin Da’ in Chinese) means “new achievement”, representing a breakthrough achievement- furthering the frontiers of innovation, technology and creativity- as a quantum leap towards the future.
