Parking
A Zoo In The Carpark
Offering one of the biggest covered carparks in the
CBD, Suntec City's two basements are accessible from Temasek Boulevard,
Temasek Avenue or Nicoll Highway. A fun and eye-catching colour graphic
system has also been designed to help motorists find their way around
the complex and identify the lot where they parked.
A businessman going for a meeting at Suntec City Tower parks at the green
zone. If he's heading for Towers One or Two, he parks at the yellow zone.
If it's Towers Three or Four, then he parks at the red zone. A visitor
attending a convention parks at the blue zone.
A shopper planning large purchases simply parks at the green zone if he
is headed for the Galleria or the yellow zone if he is going to the Tropics.
A couple heading for the cineplex can drive straight into the red zone
while a family out for dinner at the Fountain Terrace can park at any
zone and proceed directly to the Terrace.
To help these motorists remember where they parked, 24 animal graphics
corresponding to the letters of the alphabet, ranging from Alligator to
Zebra, complement the column coding, numerical bay letterings and aisle
numbers of their car park lot. If they still cannot remember where their
cars are parked, help is at hand in the form of roving courtesy patrol
buggies.
Increasing Parking Capacity
The management has been working closely with consultants
on increasing the parking capacity to cater for the ever increasing demand
for parking space. To enhance the services, valet parking services, buggy
shuttle services and mechanical parking system have been implemented.
The various improvements have received positive response from tenants,
shoppers and visitors. Nevertheless, the management is constantly reviewing
these services and the system for further improvement.
Intelligent Lifts
A unique advantage of Suntec City Office Towers are
the high-speed passenger lifts that serve the low, mid and high floors.
These computerised lifts use an expert system with fuzzy logic to ensure
passengers of a smooth and efficient ride. In addition, passengers can
be assured of waiting time lasting not more than 30 seconds.
Broadband-Ready
Wired Up For Broadband At Suntec City
Following a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed
by 1-Net Singapore, Suntec City Development, StarHub and Origin Technology,
the speedy Singapore-One network (nationwide broadband infrastructure)
is coming straight into Suntec City's offices.
Under this alliance, 1-Net provides the bandwidth and Origin - a Suntec
tenant - operates a data centre for smaller tenants who want their servers
in it. Wiring up the offices internally will be 3 parties: StarHub, Tridor and
MCI WorldCom, the second largest telecommunications company in the United
States and the fourth largest worldwide.
Named e-biz hub@Suntec, the project will see high-speed fibre optic cables
laid straight into a tenant's office and plugged into its router and Internet
server. Just how fast is high-speed? "The pipe we are pulling into Suntec
City - to be shared by its tenants - would not be anything slower than
155Mbps (megabits per second)," said Mr Gregory Chia, 1-Net's chief operating
officer. This is speedier than other last-mile broadband access options
like ADSL (asymmetric digital subscriber line) which offers a speed of
about 2-10Mbps downstream and cable which has a speed of about 10Mbps
- too slow for a busy Web server.
Tenants at Suntec City enjoy immediate access to this super speed at a
much lower rate, compared the cost of pulling a dedicated line to one's
office.
